Parrotfish are known for their distinctive beak-like mouth, which they use to scrape algae and other small organisms off of coral and rocks. They have a unique feeding mechanism, where their teeth are fused into a beak-like structure that is strong enough to crush coral and other hard materials.

In addition to their beak-like mouth, parrotfish are also known for their vibrant colors. They come in a range of hues, from blues and greens to pinks and yellows, and many species have intricate patterns and markings on their scales.

One interesting fact about parrotfish is that they are capable of changing their sex. Many species are born as females and then change into males as they mature. This process is known as sequential hermaphroditism.
